Family-owned artisans specializing in wooden tankards, tabletop RPG accessories, and leather goods that combine traditional craftsmanship with practical, everyday use.
Tusk & Braid Woodworks is a family-owned and operated business based in New Kent, Virginia. We specialize in tabletop RPG accessories, wooden tankards and mugs, and leather goods.
Our wooden tankards and mugs are one of a kind, inspired by archaeological findings from Birka and Gotland, Sweden. These designs date back to the Vendel Era and Viking Age but remained popular through the Late Middle Ages due to their sturdy construction and stylish attributes.
Using modern techniques, we construct our drinkware from durable hardwoods. We deliberately avoid metal adornments, instead selecting beautiful pieces that showcase their natural grain without stains or dyes.

How we craft our unique pieces
We carefully select each piece of hardwood for its natural beauty, grain pattern, and durability. We source our materials responsibly, supporting sustainable forestry practices.
Each piece begins with careful planning and design, drawing inspiration from historical artifacts and traditional techniques while considering modern functionality.
Using both traditional hand tools and modern equipment, we shape each piece with precision and care, ensuring that every detail meets our high standards of quality.
We finish each piece with natural oils and waxes that enhance the wood's natural beauty while providing protection and durability for everyday use.
